Originally Devloped by NOI Engineering, an energy engineering and due diligence consulting company, Benchmarx™ was the result of listening to client needs with an independent and rational observation of the marketplace. Dashboard's are prevalent, but they are typically nothing more than simple "online" spreadsheets. Scoring Systems are prevelant, but they are very limited in scope and efficacy.
NOI Engineering envisioned a tool that would not only benefit those with little energy management experience but one that would also lend itself well to in house day-to-day monitoring. This would not only faciliate ongoing and automated data collection and rendering but in doing so would meet the requirements of Energy Disclosure laws in places such as Seattle, Chicago, Boston, Washington D.C., and the state of California.
Benchmarx™ has distinguised itself from the market place by winning the Grand Prize of the Biggest Energy Saver Contest for Best Overall Software Application which was sponsered by IBM, Itron, Landys+Gyr, Oncor, and CenterPoint Energy. Benchmarx™, which is a privately funded and developed software application, beat 11 other teams most of which were underwritten by Venture Capital firms.
